My Dearest James,

As I pen these words, the echoes of thunderous bombardment reverberate through the air, a constant reminder of the relentless assault inflicted upon us by the Germans. The skies have turned into a swirling tempest of destruction, and amidst the chaos, I find solace in the thought of you, my anchor in this storm.

The heavy bombardment has shattered the tranquility that once graced these lands. Homes lie in ruins, and the streets bear the scars of a relentless war machine. The world around me has been plunged into a dark abyss, where fear and uncertainty lurk at every turn. But in the depths of this devastation, I hold onto the belief that our love is a beacon of light, guiding me through the darkest nights.

The nights have become unbearable, James, as the thunder of artillery and the shrill whistling of falling bombs pierce the air. The very ground trembles beneath my feet, as if mirroring…
